1. Game Overview

Chivalry 2 is a multiplayer cold-weapon PVP game with combat operations like For Honor. The goal of victory is to complete a series of missions within a set time frame, with the defending side winning if the timeout is exceeded.

2. Highlights Design

2.1 Newbie Guide

Keywords: comprehensive, can skip the more difficult subsections

The newbie guide teaches players step by step, from how to move and general attack to advanced operating techniques such as defensive counterattack and backstep. The teaching is comprehensive, and players can handle all the combat scenarios in the game after mastering it.

Many operations have certain requirements for the player’s operation, and the system is also designed to skip the mechanism of this summary guide if you feel it is too difficult. (Because it is a hardcore action game, learning is certainly beneficial, but also can not be stuck in the player’s game process)

2.2 Battle Cry

Keywords: atmosphere setting

If you have to ask: how to create a game atmosphere with one system feature. Chivalry 2’s Battle Cry feature is the perfect answer.

The textbook said cold warfare, one drum, then another, then three. Morale is very important.

Creatures fear death, but in the face of the tragedy that is about to happen to them, they must cheer themselves and their teammates up in a primal way.

And so, this perfect feature appears in this work: the battle cry. By clicking the button, the player’s character will raise his weapon and howl loudly, and this is heard by all players. (FPS can not do so, because listening to the sound of the game is part of the shooting game to test the skills of the player) each player’s battle cry is different, can be as much as possible to simulate the cold weapons battlefield blood atmosphere.

When players press the battle cry button while chasing an enemy, they will hear other teammates respond to their battle cry and charge alongside them.

2.3 Mission Objectives

Keywords: fitting the worldview, coherent tasks, difficulty gradient, diverse goals, advancement of resurrection points

The victory condition for the attacking side is to complete a series of combat missions within a specified time, with each completed mission awarding some time to continue with the next mission. The victory condition for the defending side is to organize the attacking side to complete the tasks until the time runs out.

There are only two countries in the game worldview, the red side, and the blue side. All the battles take place in these two warring countries. Therefore, siege, prison robbery, and village slaughter are all bloody missions that fit the game’s worldview. The missions of each game are very coherent and logical: for example, the first goal of the village slaughter game is to invade the village and break down the village gate. The next task immediately following is to slaughter civilians, loot treasure, and burn down churches.

Each task is completed in different ways, some are required to break buildings, some are required to kill NPCs, and some are required to collect props, the completion conditions of each task are easy to understand and not off-topic. (Cold War)

When a player completes a certain task, or when the task advances to a target percentage, the player’s resurrection point will advance (or change) accordingly to speed up the pace of the game.

2.4 Defeat Design

The player on the losing side immediately loses his weapon for the winning side to fish. Satisfy players' desire to hunt. Create a warm atmosphere of abandoning armor and losing helmets.
